Our company is able to perform integrated design of blast furnace production facilities. In our projects we propose solutions for improving process performance metrics, energy saving, increasing the duration of the furnace campaign and environmental protection.
The main objects among the main blast furnace production facilities are the following:
— blast furnace proper;
— hot blast stove block;
— blast furnace charging system.
During construction of new blast furnaces, as well as by reconstruction and modernization of the existing ones the following basic solutions are applied:
— self-supporting-type blast furnace shell;
— optimization of the furnace profile with an increase of the height of the”dead layer” and the blast-furnace crucible;
— blast-furnace bottom and hearth design with the use of microporous carbon blocks and a ceramic cup for increasing the furnace bottom lining life, which determines the furnace campaign duration;
— installation of the state-of-the-art cooling systems using chemically treated circulation water;
— installation of copper cooling staves in the areas with a high heat-transfer intensity;
— installation of modern means of BF operation monitoring, including automated bottom- and hearth-erosion control.
Our company develops and designs all kinds of blast furnace cooling systems in combination with cooling plates, including copper staves.
In our projects we use vertical cooling staves in the stack, which can operate with evaporative cooling, both of natural and forced circulation, as well as can be equipped with a closed- loop chemically treated water cooling. Cooling staves and CTW cooling systems are structurally designed so, that an upward water flow is provided in the cooling staves and cooling system lines. This technical solution makes possible to operate the CTW cooling system in the evaporative cooling mode for a certain time, depending on the amount of water in the expansion tanks, without the blast furnace shutdown during emergency power cut-offs as long as diesel circulation pumps or standby power supply is turned on.
During construction or reconstruction designing of BF casthouses our company uses new developments related to installation of modern cast iron and slag runners, with application of casthouse hydraulic machines, dedusting, gas cleaning and slag granulation plants.
The design of the runners makes it possible to use state-of-the-art high-resistance runner clays.
Casthouse floors are horizontal.
Main, transportation and tilting runners are equipped with shelters. The top of the transportation runner shelters is at the same elevation as the top of the casthouse floor, and it allows us to use floor-standing means of casthouse work mechanization.
HOT BLAST STOVE BLOCK
In order to increase the blast temperature and to reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere, we offer installation of modern, high-temperature, shaftless-type stoves in our projects, which provide:
— blast temperature increase up to 1300°С;
— efficient gas combustion and low CO content in gas emissions;
— disadvantages of the stoves with an integrated combustion chamber are eliminated (direct gas migration between the combustion chamber and the stove checkerwork, deformation and caving of the combustion chamber, pulsating combustion, uneven distribution of combustion products over the checkerwork, etc.);
— high durability of the stove dome and the checkerwork.
To increase the blast temperature as a result of reconstruction of existing blast stoves with an integrated combustion chamber, it is proposed to use the heat of exhaust flue gases. For this purpose the stoves are equipped with a fuel gas and combustion air heater.
BLAST FURNACE CHARGING SYSTEM
One of the most important areas of the blast furnace charging system is stocks transportation. The most modern of all types is a stock-conveying system, which allows to solve many issues of preparation, dosing and proportioning of the charging materials for the blast-furnace smelting process.
Therefore, by reconstruction of bin trestles, equipped with scale cars, we propose to install a charge-conveying system with a fine fraction screening and dusty air suction at junction points in the stockhouse.
For charge material transportation to the furnace top a skip hoist or a conveyor can be used.
In our projects we propose installation of bell-type or bell-less tops for charging burden materials directly into the blast furnace, depending on the wishes of the Customer.
